Thursday nights through Saturday you would be smart to make a reservation, but if you’re wanting food like Revel but want to avoid the crowds and wait, head to Revel’s older sister, Quoin for an equally pleasing experience.

Floating restaurants are really pretty goofy. You're technically on the water, but the hulking vessel is so big that you can't really feel anything, like tides or waves or water, which I personally expect when I'm on the water. You really might as well just eat on a restaurant near the water, rather than technically on it.
I don't understand the appeal, but most people seem to get it. All across the world, people want to eat their crab legs or whatever fishy concoction they believe the restaurant fished out of the river/bay/tributary/etc...for them.

Fans of Gabriel’s Fire, a BBQ joint formerly based in Ballard, should feel some relief. You can still get your brisket sandwich fix by visiting the restaurant’s new location in Mountlake Terrace. Although, their new venue is a bit ramshackle and to some critics, on the verge of collapse, it all ads to the experience of eating delicious messy and smoky BBQ.

I am sort of amazed how much power the social media restaurant review websites Urbanspoon and Yelp have with foodies. A low percentile of “Likes It” or stars on these websites can force a restaurant out of business, and these unpaid reviewers are harsh. I’ve seen restaurants that I enjoy skewered for anything from undercooked chicken to inattentive waiters to television noise in the back kitchen—and that isn’t saying anything about the terrible reviews of mediocre restaurants. Sweet Tomatoes is a restaurant that many people throughout the country have not had the delight of enjoying. This restaurant offers a large, healthy salad bar, a soup bar and delicious, healthy dessert options. For one low price, you can enjoy all you can eat healthy food that will not leave you bloated and uncomfortable after eating. With all of the unhealthy restaurants in this country, we need more Sweet Tomatoes restaurants, or some quality dupes. Americans are getting fatter and fatter, and low-cost restaurant food choices may be helping to drive us there.

I drove by Omaha's legendary Mister C’s the other day. The red brick gate of the complex has crumbled, the pavement of the parking lot is cracked with creeping vines, a crude, hand-painted sign is has been put up, threatening squatters with police persecution for breaking into the building. The mock-grandeur of the restaurant’s Venetian facade has fallen to nothingness to be sure, and for some Omahans, the death of Italian steakhouses like this one signals the end of an era.
